Could the Obese and diabetic population be suffering from Malnutrition

Wednesday, September 8th, 2010

Malnutrition and obesity go together? how can this be if you are suffering from malnutrition then you would be skinny.

Well this is a misconception that if you are not getting enough nutrition that you would look like the staving people you see on the TV in some remote third world country.

These people are definitely suffering from malnutrition but that is because they are staving. But you can be eating plenty of food and still be suffering malnutrition.

The word nutrition is the key, nutrition is the nutrients that are found in FOOD.

Not all food is created equal. The whole food that is fresh fruits and vegetables nuts seeds and whole grains, legumes etc. are very nutrient rich.

Man-made food on the other hand is nutrient poor, in fact it also toxic.

Our forebears did very well on a whole food diet rich in the nutrients needed to build healthy strong people that worked hard on the land or in industry.

But about 100 years ago the food industry started to add chemicals, preservatives and additives to give  shelf life to food and this revolutionized the industry. In recent years we now have machines to cook our food in record time.

Unfortunately the food is also over processed and the nutrient value is almost lost completely. Now the food that you find in the supermarket is not real food at all it is a chemical substitute.

I remember when I was a kid there was a television cartoon called the Jetsons and they had food dispensers in there houses that produced the food which was all man made.

We now live in this reality. Maybe it isn’t quite the same as on the Jetsons but the concept is essentially the same, we buy a packet at the shop and put it into the microwave and in 2 minutes we sit down and eat a meal.

We live in such a fast track world now where both parents are often working and it is hard to put a good meal on the table after working all day. So this type of food is very appealing to the over busy mum. What could she be doing to the health of her family.

This food has no nutrition and people eat like this 5-7 days a week  and then you add some takeaway’s, they are nutrient starved just like the person in the third world country.

But hang on a minute we don’t look like them so we can’t be starved. The food that I just described is nutrient poor but is full of fat, sodium and sugar.

When our bodies are deprived of the nutrition it requires it will store everything it can get as fat for future use to be converted into energy.

This store is put away for a rainy day in the adipose tissue (fat cells).

If an obese person stops eating processed foods and starts to eat a nutrient rich (Whole food) diet then the body starts to release the stores for use. Weight loss is the result. It is now getting nutrition and no longer need to store fats.

Have you ever noticed when you go on a diet to loose weight and you cut down on your portions and eat less, you go well for the first couple of weeks and loose a couple of kg or pounds then the body plateau’s and you stop or even start to gain more weight. Why is this?

You are starving the body more and it is going into storing mode. Not only is the food nutrient poor it doesn’t satisfy your hunger so you are constantly hungry, it is toxic with all the chemicals and additives the the body doesn’t know how to deal with and they are also deposited in the adipose tissue.

I know this is a doom and gloom story but this is how it is.

Solution to the problem.

Eat a nutrient rich diet of whole foods fresh fruits and vegetables, nuts, seeds, whole grains and legumes. These foods should be in there natural state and wherever possible RAW.

I say to people wanting to make change in there life need to shift there thinking on what they put in there mouth and life will change for the better. There is no magic pill to cure obesity or diabetes it is the way we eat and nothing more.

We are what we eat!!!!!!

Minerals are just as important as Water

Monday, June 28th, 2010

My last post I talked about drinking enough water so to follow on with this vein of thought it is important to get minerals as well.

If you are exercising and feel thirsty then you are already dehydrated and your electrolytes are out of balance.

You should always hydrate before and during exercise to maintain a good level throughout to avoid unnecessary stress on the body.

I mentioned in my last post that it was not good to drink more than 3 litres of water a day, the reason for this is you will flush out your minerals and become mineral deficient.

Many health conditions are a result of mineral deficiencies like high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, osteoporosis and arthritis.

Sodium, chloride and potassium are all electrolytes and play a huge role in keeping the fluid of the body balanced.

Salt is a very important mineral in the body we must have salt to live, our tears, sweat and all the fluids in our body are salty including the brain and spinal fluids.

The word electrolyte means they carry a electrical charge in water, they can move in and out of the cell to transport nutrients and remove waste, as well as water to keep the fluid balance.

They also carry electrical impulses along the nerve pathways which helps the muscles to contract and relax. Not only the skeletal muscles but the heart and diaphragm as well.

Electrolytes are also responsible for carrying glucose (blood sugar)into the cell after insulin opens the gate to allow the glucose in.

Our bones are not only calcium but also salt crystals are woven in with the calcium, and this is what makes the bones hard. When the body needs more salt than is present it can borrow some from the bones but unfortunately when the salt is drawn out of the bones it takes the calcium with it. This makes the bones thin and brittle and osteoporosis develops.

Many Dr.’s put there patients on a low-salt diet but in fact they need the opposite, but the type of salt is the most important aspect here.

Table salt is purified by removing the trace mineral [ where this crazy idea came from I don't know] and heating the salt to 1200 degrees F. Now what is left is 40% sodium and 60% chloride, then a anti-caking agent is added.

Salt is sodium chloride and is not assimilated well by the body it helps to raise blood pressure and clogs up the arteries causing heart disease.

Table salt is not a good option, nature provides salt with minerals and trace minerals attached [ it stand to reason that we need these as well as salt] the best way to get them is in an organic salt like sea salt and himalayan salt.

Adding a 1/8 tsp of organic salt to your water will help to get your minerals, you can also add to your food.

But you can also drink a large class of pure water and then put a pinch of sea salt on the tip of the tongue and allow it to dissolve.

Kelp or any sea vegetable is also a good source of minerals and can be added to you diet very easily by sprinkling on you salad.

Concentrated mineral drops are another great option, I use these, you can get them  in a health shop.  Follow the instructions on the bottle.

Green smoothies are a great way to keep you mineral reserve up, dark leafy green vegetables are very high in minerals, which are released when you blend them.

This is a delicious drink that will give you an abundance of energy.

Don’t just take my word for it check out what Dr. Batmanghelidj has to say about water. http://www.watercure.com/

I dare you to try this recipe.

Basic Green Smoothie (for one)

1 apple

1 kiwifruit

1 banana

200 ml of water

1 ½ cups of fresh well washed spinach (or any other dark leafy green vegetable)

2 pitted dates (optional)

Peel and chop kiwifruit and apple, place with the rest of the ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth. Enjoy.

Water! Do we drink enough?

Saturday, June 26th, 2010

I find hard in the colder months is to drink enough water.

I am just not inclined to drink cold water, I’m drawn to the warmer drinks like herbal teas and miso.

Although these are good options I noticed that I was getting

dehydrated and had to force myself to drink more water.

You just don’t get as thirsty in the winter as you do in the summer.

It isn’t difficult to get dehydrated in the winter as the cold can

be very drying to the body as well and the skin. Have you noticed that your skin is

more dry in the winter than in the summer.

A good way to check if you are hydrated enough is to do the test on the back of your

hand.

Just pinch a piece of skin between the thumb and index finger, hold for second and

then let if go. The skin should immediately return to normal, if it doesn’t and the

skin appears to take some time to flatten

out then you are dehydrated and need to drink more water.

Another way to tell is by your urine, it should be almost clear

and have no or very little odor. Our bodies will produce strong urine when

it doesn’t have enough fluid so if you can smell it then you

need to drink more.

Water should stay in our body for 2-3 hours the body will take what it needs and

then the water goes to the kidneys for excretion.

If you find that you are getting tired in the daytime and find it

hard to concentrate then you are dehydrated.

We need a lot more water than we realize, imagine a plump grape hanging on the

vine this is a hydrated cell, then visualize a sultana this is a dehydrated cell.

Some suggestions on how to get the water in are;

Get a 500 ml bottle preferably glass, this makes it easy to

calculate.

Drink a whole bottle first thing in the morning before breakfast.

Also last thing at night.

Try to get another one in during the day.

Squeeze some lemon juice or grate fresh ginger in the water

to flavor it.

Try drinking hot water and lemon and or ginger instead of a

coffee or tea.

Your body is made up of 70 to 80% of water and in order to

maintain that level you need to consume 1.5 to 2 Litres of

water a day.

Coffee or tea are not included in this calculation, they are

diuretics which dehydrate the body.

I can hear you now thinking I will  be on the toilet all day and

night if I drink that much water. Well yes you will go to the

bathroom a bit more initially but this will pass in less than a

week and you will find that you are more alert much clearer

in the head.

90% of headaches are due to dehydration, dry skin is due

to dehydration, constipation is often caused by dehydration,

brain fag is due to dehydration, in fact most health conditions

can be improved by just drinking more water.

Now that is a lot cheaper than a whole lot of supplements.

Who would believe that simple water could make you feel so good, it can lower your

blood pressure hence improving cardiovascular heath.  Help you concentrate, get rid

of that annoying headache and increase the fluid retention in the skin as well as

keep the bowel working well.

If that is not a good enough reason to drink more water then I don’t know what is.

So go on go get a large glass of water and drink it.

PS do not drink more than 3 litres of water a day, too much can flush out  vital

minerals.

Cleansing by Fasting

Saturday, May 15th, 2010

I fast at least once a year as I enjoy the cleansing  feeling that it gives me, not only my body but also my mind. I feel de-cluttered mind wise after a fast. This passed week I have been on a fast with some friends of mine.

I wish to share some of our experiences during this time. It’s not exceptionally radical, it consist of 3 lead in days then the fasting days,  3 lead out days.

The 4 others that came on the fast with me had never fasted before, so it was great to hear all there positive experiences as we progressed through.

We got together on the first evening (Friday)and spent some time  sharing our reasons for doing the cleanse.

We all had different goals and expectations. TW was give up smoking, GF wanted to detoxify in order to lose weight, SF was wanting to kick start a new rawfood lifestyle and RC wanted to do a detox,  I needed to cleanse.

We met again on the Sunday to make a big pot of Broth which everyone contributed some vegetables too. This being the third day, we had our last solid meal at lunch time on that day.

We all got around the island in my kitchen and chopped up 5 onions, 2 cabbages, 6 capsicums, 3 chillies, a large bag of spinach and 18 potatoes. Fitting all these vegetable into my 2 large pots was a challenge, then GF chomped into his thumb instead of the potato.

In between trying to stop the bleeding finger I added lots of herbs and spices to the broth.

The broth took another hour or so to cook and we settled down to a game of Rummy O, which some of us had never played before. I won the game even though I was flitting from game to stirring soup and tasting.

To everyones horror I stained off the vegetables to be discarded (feed to my chickens) and divided all the liquid broth among the 5 of us, we ended up with 2 litres each.

The fast lasted for three days, then we had our lead out days.

It was amazing how everyone had similar  and some individuals experiences.

Most of us did some kind of cleaning I cleaned out all my draws in my bedroom and in the kitchen.

RC dragged out all her stuff she had stored, she sorted and discarded what was no longer wanted, she did this until 3 am then proceeded to continue the next day to de-clutter her life of all the things that she had been holding on to for unwarranted reasons.

SF cleaned out her office, TW who gave up smoking wanted to wash everything mainly to remove the stale smoke smells that were lingering.

This is often a common occurrence when you clean on the inside you have the desire to clean on the outside.

Most of us were waking early and feeling energy to burn, I went with GF for a 35 km ride on the Saturday and for 52 km on Sunday, I was a bit shattered after that though.

SF wanted to get out and exercise, due to lack of motivation she had not been doing any for several months.

RC and I had been attending Buddhist meditation classes, we found more clarity in our meditation. I found everything was easier to understand, it all made sense all of a sudden.

TW had the desire to curl up and keep warm with a good book, she found it better to hibernate.

GF had the most interesting experience of all, he discovered he had gallstones when he had a gallbladder attack. This was very painful and unfortunate for him. However on a positive note he can now remove them from his body.

This just goes to show how powerful a fast can be. The idea of fasting is to give the digestive system a break and allow the body to do some healing. This is exactly what happened with GF his body decided it was time to cleanse the gallbladder.

Some of us felt a bit cold near the end of the fast. We all lost weight, some as much as 3.7 kg, but most of us around 3 kg.

We all had a lightness and feeling of well being. Everyone found that they were not hungry at all, some reported to have missed the chewing process.

So the fast had a positive result for everyone, we are all happy with the results.

This is the cheapest detox you can do. You don’t need to spend money on detox kits.

You just use the best organic fruits and vegetables available and you can cleanse your body and mind over an 8 day period and feel great.

Best results when you plan the process, do it with others as then you aren’t feeling isolated.

If you want to do a fast, then email me and I will send you the fasting protocol, it isn’t hard but important you follow the instructions. Should you suffer from chronic illness you should consult  a naturopath before fasting.

Realising your potential

Monday, March 22nd, 2010

Today this blog is about ways to help you overcome the disadvantages that may be holding you back from realizing your potential

Let us just look at one of the most common disadvantages DISEASE.
So what is disease?

Disease is interrupted health or an imbalanced state of health.

How do we get disease?

Disease starts with either a Trauma, Accident or Emotional disturbance,

An example of a accident/trauma, you are injured on the rugby field. When healed your get back out on the field the injury gets knocked repeatedly you continue to have trouble because it is weak. Several years later you could develop arthritis in that knee.

Emotional disturbance, you get bullied at school, other children tell you your a geek, your a very sensitive type, you don’t tell your parents they might think that your weak. You just shut it up inside and it eats at you, you start to believe that you are a geek, several years later you develop Ulcerative Colitis. An ulcer is self eating self.

Of course many other factors are involved such as viral, bacterial influences as well that determine disease on a individual basis.

WHAT IS HEALTH?
Most would agree that “Health is a state of mind and being where you are free of physical mental and emotional disadvantages”.

So what holds us in a state of health?

I’m healthy because I feel healthy, I live a healthy lifestyle and I believe that I’m healthy.
So am I healthy ? YES I AM. Why? because I believe that I am in a healthy state of being and mind.
So what makes me healthy is the desire to be healthy.

So what keeps us in a state of health or state of disease?

Could it be that we are where we are because that is where we “THINK“ we should be consciously or subconsciously? Most definitely.

So how do we change this should we need to?

What I am saying to you today is “ no matter what state of health or disease you are in today it isn’t permanent, you can change it”.

I am who and what I want to be, and you to can be who and what you want to be as well.

If you want to be healthy then you need to believe you can be healthy.

There are three easy steps to the process of empowerment

Step 1. Define what you want your life and health to be like.

Step 2. Believe that you can have this and that you deserve it.

Step 3. Start to act like you already have it.

Now surely it can’t be that simple, but really it is.

Once you define your desired health status, you need only visualize yourself being healthy and it will come, your mind doesn’t understand the difference between visualization and reality.

Extensive Studies have be done in this area of research, they discovered that when training for an event that if you visualise yourself training it can be just as beneficial as the actual training.

Train your mind to think health and bring it on.
Believe that you can be healthy and then start to live like you are healthy.

You will need to make and plan this journey in a way that suits you on an individual basis and make the rules and plan the steps at your pace.

But don’t forget to celebrate every milestone along the way. Gratitude is everything.

You have only but to REALISE YOU POTENTIAL.

This process can be applied to any issue or disadvantage you may be experiencing, the principle is the same.

Be thoughtful and careful what comes out of your mouth, since with those words you create your reality.

I live in a Wonderful World

Monday, March 15th, 2010

I live in a wonderful world what about you? Is your world wonderful like mine?

So why is my world so wonderful because
I have just been sent 3 beautiful new babies to join our family in the last 4 weeks. Baby Michael Grace to my niece in Auckland and then baby Danika to my nephew in Napier and then baby Finn to my other niece in Vancouver.

We are so lucky and privileged that these 3 new souls have chosen to join our family.
New life is so beautiful and innocent and they have a whole life to create for themselves and enjoy.

Enough about the babies, what about where I live we have the most fabulous weather here and today was yet another day in paradise, it is March and we are having beautiful sunshiny days.

I have been out on my bike for the last 4 days riding around in the sun in one of the most picturesque areas of New Zealand.

I have many opportunities to live, grow and experience the pleasures of this Gods own land.

I own my own home which has a sizable piece of turf to grow my own fresh fruits and vegetables which I enjoy immensely and I have an abundance of cucumbers at the moment.

I belong to a close loving family with a sister in Vancouver and a brother only 10 minutes away, our son is local and our daughters and grandchildren are only 4 hours away. In fact there are many special family members that I give and receive love on a daily basis.

Not to mention the freedom to pursue my every pleasure. What else could I ask for?

I thank the universe for all of this and more everyday of my life.
I am so happy, and I created all of this for myself. I chose to come to this life and be me and to be part of this family, what a great choice it was life is great.

I am so grateful to have decided to go raw and change my life, It was the catalyst that would lead me on my current journey of enlightenment.

I’m 53 years old, in great health and having a ball.

I have had some not the greatest experiences in this life but they have been very good learning and growth pathways so I have no complaints.

Today we discovered that someone stole our elephant from the front porch, I will miss him as we have had him for a long time.

I find myself asking why did I create this?

Some one obviously needed him more than we did right now, so I hope that he will find his way to another home that loves him as much as we did.

He was only a possession and they come and go. I am lucky to have possessions at all others don’t.

The other day my neighbour pasted a slip of paper on my office window that she found in a magazine, it so relates to what I preach. It reads like this!

What you think you create
What you create you become
What you become you express
What you express you experience
What you experience you are
What you are is what you think

This is my world.
I hope you live in a wonderful world like I do.

Creating your reality

Sunday, February 21st, 2010

Is it possible that you are creating your reality?

Are we attracting our bad luck and well as our good luck?

Well do you ever find yourself saying  ” Why does this always happen to me?”

It could be anything like you just get on top of the bills and start to put some money aside and then the washing machine breaks down or the car or the dishwasher etc.

Or you are always late no matter how hard you try not to be late; something always comes along to make you late.

Or I fail and every diet I try. I can never keep the weight off.

Or I just can’t get a good job.  There is always too many other people more skilled than me.

Or I will never get out of debit, I just can’t earn enough money.

Or my one is I’m always loosing my keys. Keys and me don’t get on.

So why does this always happen to me? Do you find yourself asking this question

Our thoughts and beliefs create our reality, while we are thinking I’m never going to get out of debit, or I’m useless with my keys, I’m always late.

Our thoughts are re-enforcing our beliefs in ourselves every day and creating our reality.

If you are happy with everything in your lifestyle right now and you have no problems of any sort then you don’t need to read any further.

But I don’t’ think that there is anyone that is truly happy with everything in there lifestyle where they are looking for a health and wellbeing or not.

I may be wrong but I feel that I am really happy and healthy and have a well balanced lifestyle, but there is always going to be room for improvement in my life.

So if you relate in anyway to a similar scenario then read on.

If you want something to happen you only need to visualize this happening in live as if this is already a reality.

Changing your lifestyle to a healthy one that includes raw foods and exercise could easily be being sabotaged by your thoughts and beliefs.

Try visualizing a parking spot right outside the shop you want to visit start this when you get in the car and see your self parking your car in that spot, when you come around the corner it will magically appear just right where you imagined it.

It is the same with anything in your life that you attract it is because you have been either thinking or believing that this is what you deserve, this is whether it is a good thing or a bad thing.

I found myself just yesterday using the wrong thinking process. I had some keys in my handbag that I need to leave at work. I was repeating to myself that

“I must not take the keys home”. Then I realized that I was programming myself in to taking them home. I quickly changed this to “ I must leave the keys at work” This worked really well I didn’t forget to leave the keys at work.

So why are there some people that do really well in business and are very successful and others are not?

This is to do with their belief systems. They believe they deserve this, through their thoughts they are attracting success and all the things that go with that success.

A woman that is beaten by her partner and previous partners keeps repeating the process by getting into violent relationships one after the next. This is connected to her belief system she believes that she deserves no better that what she gets.

This is the victim mentality, when it keeps on happening one will begin to believe that this is all there is.

This is where we can create our own reality; no one else is responsible for all the things that are happening in your life but you.

So you are the one that can change this and no one else.

Change is not always that easy as it is connected as I said before to our belief system and these can be very deep rooted in our past. But this is not an obstacle once you understand how to create your reality.

We can be “who” we want and do exactly “what” we want.

There is nothing stopping us but ourselves.

If your are prepared to change your thoughts and reprogram your beliefs then any obstacle of the past will be a molehill of the future.

Naked as a new Born Baby

Sunday, October 18th, 2009

Most of us only experience this nakedness as a new born baby when we are born. As we grow we start to cover this innocence and nakedness with delusions and barriers.

Our lives are a mass of experiences and exposures so we mask ourselves in what is expected by others like our parents and our peers. This is our protection from the naked truth of ourselves.

Some are better at this than others and they live in the delusion of who and what they are.

Some don’t care but most of us do. We hide behind our facade, like the clothes we wear, the style of which is usually the latest trend, our professions our belief  and opinions.

All of this is a product of others that we have seen, heard or read and we have shaped to call our own. Most of us would not want the world to know what hides behind this mask.

We all have our secrets that are for us alone and rightly so. I’m not saying that we are not allowed to have our privacy, I am speaking in a general sense.

The way we are presented to the world is of great importance we want to fit in with the crowd, most don’t want to stand out or be seen to be different. This would attract ridicule and rejection. No one wants to be rejected abandoned or out-casted.

We are a race that needs the protection of the group or tribe and we can’t survive with out it.

Should we not conform to the rest we may end up being alone, so this is the shape of the world as we know it.

I have been a product of this for all of my life and I’m Ok about that. I have always presented myself to the world as I would like others to see me. I act in the manner that I feel is fitting my status as a professional, a citizen, my sex and being a parent. I live in this way only exposing what I am comfortable with and hiding the rest.

I would like to question the value of this, how can we expect to be true to ourselves if we are not standing in our truth.

I recently ask this question of myself as I embarked on some healing that stems back to my childhood. I spoke the truth then and I was told it was not true and accused of a false hood,

No one believed me.

At the delicate age of 13 years I learnt how to put up the mask and live behind it.

Forty years later I can not live like this any longer and I don’t have to any more.

Three years ago I stood up and spoke the truth again, this time someone listened, I opened the door and exposed the ugly truth behind. The repercussions of this were catastrophic but I had chosen to walk the path and accept the consequences of my actions upon journey, this is the single most difficult thing I have ever done in my life.

The results have been very rewarding and I can now walk tall and proud thus being the person I have always been but was masked by someone else.

I feel cleansed and renewed like I have been reborn. I don’t feel exposed I feel free and open.

The healing of the hidden wound that I carried for so long is progressing very steadily I feel the need to be cleansed totally inside and out.

I have shed myself emotionally of all the pain shame and disgust that this wound held inside of me and now it is time to physically shed it from my body.

The memory of it is still in my cells and I need to cleanse that out.

I am in the process of doing a bowel cleanse right now I am using the Lifestream Cleanse

This consists of Aloe vera liquid, Bowel-biotics and Chlorella. This will cleanse my bowel and remove the toxins that hold the memory of the ugliness that comes from holding on to your shit. This is what I have done for 40 years, but no longer is there a place in my body for this.

It is not surprising that I have suffered from constipation and hemorrhoids in the past, you can’t hold on to your Shit so to speak with out there being some consequences.

I also developed a melanoma on my leg a few years back, a cancer eating me up, it appeared on my skin hence the cracking out of the mask.

I eat a diet of 90 to 95% Raw Food so I am nourishing my cells with the powerful nutrients to regenerate the rebirth of healthy new cells as they divide and reproduce.

When I have finished the cleanse at the end of this week, I am going to do a three day fast.

Fasting is the ultimate cleanse it will cleanse the whole body and rejuvenate the mind and soul. I usually do a fast at least once a year and I feel very cleansed with energy and vitality to burn.

Now at the beginning of this blog I started by saying “As naked as a new born baby”

So where does this come into this story?

Firstly in the way I am sharing my experience with you now and also in my rebirth.

I have got myself involved with some fund raising for Breast Cancer Awareness and I am shaving my head on Saturday the 10th October at 11.30 am outside Jester’s in Emerson Street.

The last stage of my cleansing is shaving off my hair to signify my rebirth.

I will be exposed in some ways as bald and naked as a new born baby.

I have shared my healing to the degree of my comfort, there is no need for details the essence is there for you to understand the significance of the experience.

I have become involved with the fundraising to support a client and friend that has been diagnosed with breast cancer and she has chosen to go through the Chemotherapy and radiology program. I am helping her with dietary advise and also in the future with homeopathy to remove the toxic radiation from her body.

Cancer is connection to control and it takes a lot of control to produce and maintain a mask and to hold it all in.

We are taught to do this from birth and it is reconfirmed throughout our lives by others and the process of conforming to the norm.

Eating a diet of raw food is in its own way a break from the normal, everyone else is eating cooked and processed food for every meal. People that eat Raw Food as their main diet are taking a step in to the unknown, they dare to be different and claim the prize.

I challenge you to step out into the unknown walk the plank and step off at the end and find yourself, the prize is waiting.

Vitamin L

Wednesday, May 20th, 2009

There is a Vitamin that a lot of us don’t get -  it is Vitamin L

I think that  lot of us don’t love nurture and appreciate ourselves. If we are constantly thinking, for instance about how overweight we are, how unhealthy, or unwell we are and how much money we don’t have to buy all the nice things that others have. I could go on and on about all the things that we could come up with that are not to our liking.

So if we are constantly telling ourselves about all the things that we don’t have or do have and don’t want, we are just attracting more of this stuff. If a child is constantly told he is bad then he will start to believe he is bad, we are so aware of the abuse that is done sometimes unconsciously to children and adults through bulling and the like.

So why is telling yourself constantly that

“Im weak and have no will power”
“Its my thyroid”
“I’m big boned”
“My mother had Gallstones”
“Its in the family”

any different to other abuse? You are abusing yourself. Not only are they excuses but they are convincing you that you are not worthy of better.

This doesn’t make sense to me we should be loving ourselves and nurturing pampering ourselves to make us happy. NOT mopping

around feeling sorry for ourselves.

Everyone deserves love and if you can’t love yourself  how can you  love another. In order to be able to give love and affection you need to be able to know what it is like to be loved.
